Background
Fyne Futures is a registered Scottish charity established in 2004 to deliver recycling services across Bute and the Cowal peninsula with focus on environmental sustainability and community development through a collective approach, which now includes:
All areas within Fyne Futures aim to deliver social, employment, educational, environmental and health benefits for the island. We are a community project, committed to providing employment opportunities for the long-term unemployed as well as offering placements in partnership with Argyll Training, The Employability Team and Community Service, with volunteers playing a major role within the organisation.
Fyne Futures have developed effective recycling services around Bute and Cowal over the past five and a half years, focusing mainly on recycling activities, however over the past two years the organisation has improved efficiency and collection methods to maximise resources available and have also moved into biodiesel production to run the Recycling Centre’s vehicles to further reduce carbon emissions.
Through continued support from the local community recycling tonnage has increased from 9tonnes in 2004 to 410 tonnes in 2009, which through continued support is projected to increase to 460 by 2010.

A not for profit organisation established to provide recycling services within Bute and Cowal to aid environmental and social benefits to the wider community.
