Construction and Town Centre Regeneration for Community Benefit

This project has supported Kintyre Cultural forum to develop a plan for an environmental, culture and arts centre.  The aim of the project is to engage with the wider community and young people to establish best use of public realm buildings and, through working with skilled construction professionals, design and plan appropriate refurbishment to meet the community’s needs.  Environmental good practice will be identified, to maximise opportunities for renewables and low energy consumption for environmental sustainability. The project will also assist the community to identify best use of town centre heritage buildings, to bring them up to 21st century purpose.  In addition Careers Scotland will work with school pupils to identify the range of employment opportunities related to the development and delivery of such a building.
