Rural People and Places
This project has supported the development of a multi media drama and film production, following on from the success of the tour of ‘H is for...’ an issue based drama presentation about homelessness delivered by Naomi Breeze of Breeze Productions. The project aims to use creative Arts to engage with people on the range of issues affecting and impacting on rural people and rural places. This should assist in raising awareness of rural issues and open discussion and debate on positive ways forward for rural communities in Scotland. This links with the Community Planning priority to increase awareness on rural disadvantage.
This project will focus on three distinct communities in Argyll and Bute; Bute, Campbeltown and Cairndow, all of which have their own specific issues and opportunities, including housing issues, migration factors, deprivation and employability issues. Naomi Breeze has been working on some background information and will meet with key representatives whilst developing the drama element. Here We Are in Cairndow are producing elements of film, as is Brian Barr from Bute Sons and Daughters, Rothesay and an Employed Trainee in Campbeltown will also learn film and editing skills working closely with the Campbeltown Area Conservation Scheme project. |
