Scottish Fire Service Information Sessions - Rothesay and Dunoon
On Thursday 8th October and Friday 9h October, Fyne Homes in collaboration with NHS Highland and Scottish Fire Service, held two fire information sessions in Rothesay and Dunoon.
With Bonfire night and Halloween just around the corner, we understand the importance of safety and awareness when these events occur. Parents and children aged twelve and under, were invited along to their local fire station to learn and be aware about the risks of fireworks, and most importantly how to handle sparklers.
Colin, from the Scottish Fire Service, delivered a half hour educational presentation on the “do’s and don’ts” of fireworks, how to handle sparklers, and how to be safe and aware when surrounded by dangerous explosives.
The children took part in a fun activity of colouring in fire engines; which will be entered into a competition. All the pictures will be looked at and judged, and the best eye-catching picture will receive a prize.
At the end of the session, the children enjoyed a tour of the fire engines and even got a look inside! As you can see by the pictures everyone had a fantastic time!
